Messages From Mrs. Schwartz . . .

Welcome back to school. What a start we have had!! The children are doing a fantastic job learning the new third grade procedures. There is so much to learn at the start and the children have been very patient with hearing my voice.

The children will have a break from my voice for Thursday and Friday since I will be taking my daughter to college. Sr. Laurine will continue the "training" so the children will be left in good hands.

There is PE tomorrow. Please have your child wear their PE clothes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Pack the school uniform.

AR tests will begin on Monday. We need the signed Technology forms turned in before students can use the computers. Please sign the extra copy of the tech form which your child will receive with the handbook tomorrow and return it by Friday. (Keep the handbook in your child's plastic sleeve in the front of the agenda. STAR tests will take place next week so AR goals will be assigned soon after.

Today's weekly envelope has no comments or number in the weekly box for times in the log. All of the children have done a super job and they have received popcorn as a reward. See the first newsletter for further explanation of this. Please review the newsletter with your child tonight. I highlighted it with class today. Please sign and return the slip stating that you read this important information. Thank you.

Some children need to turn in money for their seat sacks and notebooks. The total due to $16.25.

Please make sure your child has turned in all school supplies. See below for the list.

Children who do not have their agenda in class will be marked incomplete for homework that day.

Please cover the SS book tonight with a book sock. I would also like to have the workbooks for Math, Phonics, and Vocabulary covered in contact paper. This really helps the books to last longer. Maybe you can go in with other parents to buy a roll of this. I would be thrilled to have this done over the weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend. I will see the children on Monday.

A Prayer For Our Troops

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the selfless acts

they perform for us in our time of need..

We ask this in the name of Jesus,

Our Lord and Savior .  Amen.

AND

Hurricane Protection Prayer

God, our Father, Creator of the Universe,

you have set the Earth on its foundation

and all the elements of nature obey your command.

We, humbly beseech you to keep us safe from all dangers

and calm the storms which may threaten us.

May we be secure in your loving protection

and serve you always with grateful hearts.

We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ your Son,

who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,

one God, forever and ever.  Amen.
