Mrs. Mary Gordon

Mrs. Mary Gordon grew up in the Washington, D.C., area. She attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and earned an A.B. degree in history. Following a summer abroad in Salamanca, Spain, she continued her studies at the University of Virginia and received her M.A. in Spanish. Even though she started her teaching career at the high school level in Charlottesville, VA, moves with the military and husband Jon provided a wider range of teaching and working experiences, from coordinator of migrant student studies to children’s librarian, from teacher of ESL and middle school civics as well as Spanish. She has lived in Virginia, Kansas, Germany, Korea, and Arizona before settling in Sarasota. Mary began teaching at Incarnation in 1997 (five Fiestas ago). The Gordons have three children, three grandchildren, and two dogs. Mary enjoys traveling, walking, reading, cooking, and activities with her book club, sorority, church, and adult Spanish conversation group.
