Overview
From our principal, Mrs. Regina Housel
Dear Parent or Guardian:
Thank you for considering Incarnation Catholic School for your child. As a parent, this is one of the most significant decisions you will make. I believe that Incarnation Catholic School is the best investment in your child’s future.
Our school motto states that children at Incarnation School “grow in Faith, Knowledge and Love.” Our entire school program is rooted in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ and the children participate in activities and events that help them experience their faith. We encourage our students to recognize their God-given abilities and use them for the good of the community. Incarnation has weekly school liturgies where students participate in the readings, the offertory and as ushers and greeters. Students take an active role in supporting various charities by giving generously to the Mayor’s Food Drive for the Hungry and the All Faiths Food Bank in the community. They also help some of our four-legged friends by donating items to the Humane Society and to a local animal refuge. Other projects help students recognize the needs of the poor around the world.
The curriculum at Incarnation School is one of excellence following the standards set by the Diocese of Venice which flow from the Florida Sunshine State standards. Our teachers and teaching assistants are certified and continue to update their own education; seventy-five percent hold or are working toward a Master’s degree. Students are challenged and supported to recognize their individual strengths and to work on areas where improvement is needed. They are nurtured to realize that they control what they are becoming. Historically, our students enter high school with a solid academic foundation, intellectual curiosity and strong study skills. ICS students are accepted into honors programs at Cardinal Mooney High School and the IB programs at public high schools. Each year students in grades two through eight take the ITBS, a nationally recognized standardized test. Their outstanding test scores are a tribute to the thorough education they receive at Incarnation Catholic School. As a result of students scoring in the top ten percent on this nationally-normed test our school has been distinguished as academically superior. The U.S. Department of Education named Incarnation Catholic School as 2008 Blue Ribbon School; one of only fifty private schools in the United States to receive the honor that year.
At Incarnation Catholic School our children find a safe, secure environment in which to learn, to laugh and to love. They are taught that every individual has dignity and that Jesus loves them. As you walk through the school and grounds, you will recognize the simplicity, confidence and hospitality of our students. All are welcome in this place – a place where your child can “grow in Faith, Knowledge and Love.”
Sincerely,
Mrs. Regina Housel
