U.S. Department of Education,
National Blue Ribbon School

An important part of the U.S. Department of Education, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes outstanding public and non-public schools. In identifying several hundred outstanding schools annually, the program celebrates school excellence, turn around stories, and closing subgroup achievement gaps. The award is both a high aspiration and a potent resource of practitioner knowledge. ICS received the National Blue Ribbon Award in 2008.  Click here for more information.

In the 1960’s, the Florida bishops appointed a committee to explore accreditation. The current standards use The National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic and Secondary Schools, as well as Florida Department of Education and Florida Department of Children and Families requirements.
