Preschool
ICS PHILOSOPHY
The developmentally appropriate prekindergarten classroom meets the needs of children who are at various levels of growth and development. Children are unique individuals created in the image and likeness of God. They are encouraged to work at their own pace to enhance their personal skills and abilities thus growing and developing intellectually, physically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. The developmental preschool provides experiences for children to develop all their skills in the above areas by interacting with adults, other children, and materials. Children need time to adjust and feel safe in their environment before they can mature and be ready for abstract symbols such as the alphabet and numerals. Correct developmental structuring of the prekindergarten classroom can help provide children with a positive foundation. Self-concept development is strengthened when children are provided with experiences in which they can succeed at their level. Different levels of ability, interest and varying learning styles are used to provide appropriate activities. It is vital that children begin their education with positive experiences that build their skills and their self-concepts. At Incarnation we are honored and proud to offer such a developmental program that provides such a beginning.

What makes ICS’s PK program special?
Our early childhood program provides a welcoming, faith-filled, and structured environment that nurtures the whole child. While play is an important part of learning at this age, our approach is learning through play—designed to build early language, literacy, math readiness, and social skills.
Students are held to high expectations of being Christlike in their behavior and relationships, building habits of kindness, respect, and responsibility from the very beginning.
Highlights of our program include:
Is attendance important for PK students?
Yes. Consistent attendance builds a strong foundation for spiritual and academic growth, and helps children establish good routines, friendships, and responsibility.
How does PK connect to the rest of the school?
Our PK3 and PK4 programs are the first step into the Incarnation Catholic School K–8 experience. Students transition seamlessly into kindergarten, already familiar with our teachers, routines, and mission. Families love that their children begin their ICS journey early and remain part of our close-knit community for years to come.
Does ICS accept scholarships?
Yes. We accept the Unique Abilities Scholarship for both PK3 and PK4 students.
At Incarnation Catholic School, we nurture young learners in faith, knowledge, and love, while preparing them for a lifelong journey as disciples of Christ.
